Rhydonen (or Rhydonnen) Ucha, where Grace Williams went to housekeep for brother Samuel; and when he died, David Jones moved in to marry her and work the farm. One J.Morris was working there (1891 census), and David Samuel Jones was four months old. John Morris was employed there, living in. Was he Nain's eldest brother John Thomas Morris, who later lived there?

Haydn Phillips' daughter Vivianne (Sandy Bourner's Aunty Viv, now living in Australia) remembers Rhydonnen:

"When your Dad [Gerald Phillips] and I were young, we used to visit Auntie Ruth (Taid's sister) at Llangollen..they had a very old farm on a hillside just outside Llangollen..it had been built by the Monks at the Valle Crusis Abbey at Llangollen..I always remember the dining room there, the walls were of black oak.I thought it very depressing as a child, the colour I mean... It was the monks Home farm where they got their eggs and cream etc...the oak staircase was a marvel, very wide also of black oak..there were no curtains in the bedrooms, as Uncle Morris said that who wanted curtains with such a marvellous view outside!!! He was a real miser on the quiet!!!....There was a secret passage which led to the Abbey I believe..someone has told me.I cannot remember who told me ..but it is now a Bed and Breakfast Farm..I wish I knew more so that you could have visited it when you go to Llangollen...We used to cross on a swinging bridge and I was always terrified of having to cross this rickety bridge, and have a fear of them to this day.... We had several boy cousins who had to work on the farm and Gwen the only girl..she was so quiet but a dear little thing..Barbara was very friendly with Gwen I recall..I have been in touch with her but she is now in a home and I have not heard from her for 2 years.." [Auntie Ruth is Ruth, sister of Haydn Phillips, and Uncle Morris is her husband John Thomas Morris. Gwen is their daughter Edith Gwendoline.]
